Access to Instructional Resources
Students were provided with information and instructional resources that can be used optionally while at home. These resources will not be collected or graded. If your child was absent today, you can still access the instructional resources by downloading a copy here.

Food Distribution During School Closure
Beginning Tuesday, March 17, we will be providing free "Grab-N-Go" nutritious meals to anyone age 18 and under at four school sites and five mobile sites. Meals will be available from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., weekdays, Tuesday, March 17 through Friday, March 27.

Medication Pick Up

In preparation for schools being closed from March 16 - 27, parents/guardians should pick up their child's medications from the health room by the end of the day March 13th. If you do not need the medication for use at home while we are closed, it will be locked up in the health room.

Recess Materials Needed
We are looking to replinish our recess equipment and are asking for donations. An Amazon Wish List has been set up to provide an wasy way to make a donation. Items will be shipped directly to the school. Please check it our here: RBES Recess Wish List

DreamBox has a challenging, standards-aligned curriculum, available in English and Spanish, that is evidence based to promote student growth and deeper conceptual understanding by encouraging different pathways to solving problems.

Don't forget to use DreamBox Learning at home, after school and on the weekends.  This month and in April, students also earn a homework pass for completing 7 lessons each week!

Kindergarten Registration for 2020 – 2021 School Year
Online registration is now open for the 2020-2021 school year!
Parents/guardians of children who will be five as of September 1, 2020 must enroll their children in kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year. Parents may begin the enrollment process online, followed by completion of the registration process at your child’s school. Online registration is not required and parents may elect to complete the full registration in person.

The following information is required at the time of registration:

  • Parent picture ID
  • Signed current lease or deed with your address, valid dates and signatures
  • Current utility bill with name and address
    • non-cellular telephone
    • gas & electric
    • cable/satellite
  • Students proof of birth
    • birth certificate
  • proof of parental relationship, custody or guardianship
  • student's current proof of immunizations

PreK Registration for 2020 - 2021 School Year
The Pre-K program is a high quality, early childhood instructional program designed to support early learning and school readiness. It aims to provide experiences that foster children’s academic, social, emotional and physical development. The Maryland State Department of Education requires that the Pre-K program be available to students who meet priority criteria. Parents of children who will be 4 by September 1, 2020 may contact Mrs. Kwon in the RBES front office for an application package.  All application information is kept confidential and reviewed only by school staff. The school will review applications and supporting documentation and then invite students to be enrolled according to the criteria described above.

School Wide Title I Program

Did you know that Running Brook has a school-wide Title I program? Title I is a federally funded program designed to ensure that all children have an opportunity to access a high quality education. The goal of this federal program is to close the achievement gap for all students. The goal of this federal program is to close the achievement gap for all students.   As a result we receive additional funds from the federal government that have allowed us to secure additional staff members, funds for family events, and materials of instruction to benefit all of our children.
We value input from our parents, community, and staff.
