Back to School Night

Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 18th for grades K-2 and Thrusday, September 19th for grades 3-5 to come out for Back To School Night.  Gifted and Talented presentation will begin at 6:00 PM each night and general classes grades will begin at 6:30 PM.

Family File (Emergency Form) Updates

It is mandatory that all families, including returning families, must verify or update their information for each student - every school year. There are currently 254 students who have an incomplete record. Please take a moment to complete your file today. If you need to use a computer please visit the office. Our secretaries will be happy to help you.

You can access the Family File by logging in to the HCPSS Connect at www.hcpss.org/connect/. Parents who are new to the Howard County Public School System will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to activate an account. Once you have logged into the HCPSS Connect, select the Family File tab on the left-hand side, and then select the blue underlined "Family File" towards the center of your screen.

Help us reach our goal of 100% completion by Friday, September 20th

School Security and Safety

School security and safety is the upmost priority for our students and our staff members.
When you visit the school we ask that you come directly to the front office to sign in and receive a badge that you must wear while in our school.  You will need your driver’s license each time that you visit the school.  Our staff members are trained to look for the appropriate badges to ensure that we know who is in our building at all times.  We appreciate your assistance with this as we work together to make Running Brook Elementary School a safe place for all.

Picture Day

Picture day is Monday, September 16th. You may preorder your pictures by visiting the Classic Photography website at https://classicphotographyimaging.simplephoto.com/ . Use access code: runningbrook19

Attention 4th and 5th Grade Parents

On Friday, September 20th your child's Friday Folder will include their PARCC home reports for reading and mathematics.  If your student is new to Running Brook but transferring from another Howard County school there may be a slight delay in receiving your child's home reports.   Once the previous school sends them to Running Brook we will send them home with your child.  Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
