Welcome Back RBES!

Dear Running Brook Families,

We hope you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer and that you had a relaxing and wonderful break!  We are delighted that you will be a part of our amazing learning community.  We welcome and value your positive energy and dedication to excellence and we are looking forward to working with you in partnership.  A strong school community is one where we can work together.

All signs point to another incredible and productive school year. While things will look different than last August & September, the RBES staff has created plans for an amazing school year.  Our skilled and devoted staff is already planning and preparing for your children.  Our enthusiastic office team is registering new families, ordering needed materials and updating student files.  Our hard working and conscientious custodians have spent the entire summer thoroughly cleaning our school to ensure it is beautiful when students and staff return to the building.

Farewell: “Once a Panther, Always a Panther”

Due to some changes in our staffing allocation we have said farewell to a few of our RBES staff members from last school year. Please join me in wishing the following staff members the best of luck in their new placements:

Amanda Westcott: Ms. Westcott will be teaching first grade at Rockburn ES this year.

Anna Lipinski: Ms. Lipinski will be teaching art at Cedar Lane this year.

Marla Ord: Mrs. Ord will be a special education paraeducator at Deep Run ES.

New Staff

Each year brings positive change and this includes additions to our staff.  This year we only have one new staff member and we are excited to welcome, Ms. Amanda Hendershot, to the RBES family. Ms. Hendershot will be our 0.4 art teacher this school year.

Baby News

RBES is excited to welcome Mrs. Adam’s baby boy on August 25th. She and her husband are excited to meet the newest addition to their family.

Once we have a substitute secured for Mrs. Adam we will inform the community.

Student Placement

A great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into the process of student placement for the 2020-2021 school year.  Careful consideration was given to each student’s placement based on the previous teacher’s recommendation, assessment scores, and reading/math levels. Classrooms have been balanced academically and socially.  Our class lists are structured to provide equitable class sizes at each grade level.

Thank you so much for being positive with your child and helping him or her understand that it is impossible to place all students with a preferred best friend or teacher.  It is expected that all staff works hard to make school a positive experience for all students.

Class Placement Notification

Back to school is one of the most exciting times of the school year!  You can find out who your child’s teacher will be this year by completing your Family File online to input your emergency contact information.

All RBES teachers will send an email to their homeroom students on Tuesday, September 1st  @ 3:00pm

Family File

Every year HCPSS parents must complete a Family File for each child. HCPSS utilizes Family File for parents/guardians to complete emergency information. Parents/guardians must verify and/or update information for each child, and can do so by logging in to HCPSS Connect and selecting the Family File tab on the left and then clicking on Family File.

Once logged in, you will be asked to update or provide the following information:

  •  Student Information
  •  Parent/Guardian Contact
  •  Emergency Contacts
  •  Medical Information
  •  Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
  •  Photo Approval
  •  Data Confidentiality
  •  PTA/PTSA Directory
