RBES Materials Collection and Distribution Plan

Dear Running Brook Families,

We miss you!  In preparation for the 2020-2021 school year, we want to share information related to the collection of materials still in your possession from last year and the distribution of new materials for use this school year.

Please know that our number one priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of every student, staff and family member during this process. We ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Students and parents/guardians should remain in their cars during drop-off and pick-up of materials. Students and parents/guardians who will walk/bike to the school should also adhere to social distancing expectations throughout the process and will be directed by HCPSS staff upon arrival.
  2. Students and parents/guardians must wear masks and adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times.

Materials Drop Off

Materials must be returned to the school they were borrowed from (i.e. the student’s 2019-2020 school).  All materials returned will sit for a four-day period as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prior to being inventoried. If your child attended a different school last year, please go to that school’s website to view their collection plan. Materials to return include but are not limited to: library books, HCPSS instruments (if student isn’t playing this year or needs to size up), and books/materials borrowed from teachers.  If your child attended our school last year, our collection plan is shared below.

Materials Pick Up

Students attending Running Brook  in the 2020-2021 school year will pick up materials at our school. Our initial distribution plan is outlined below and we will communicate future distribution opportunities as needed.  Please know that yearbooks and student laptops should be picked up at this time. Former 5th graders (starting 6th grade this year) can also pick up their yearbooks during these days/times below.    Families will come at designated times by the first letter of  your student’s last name.  Please see the chart below.  Note:  Please come during one of your 3 designated times.  Materials for families will not be available during other families time slots.

Directions for Families:

  1. Come during one of your 3 designated time periods.
  2. Wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines at all times.
  3. Check in with staff (staff will be there to direct you).
  4. Follow staff directions to move to station 2.
  5. At station 2:  Share with staff if you are picking up, dropping off or both.
  6. Staff will fill out a form based on your information to inventory or distribute materials.
  7. Follow directions from staff to safely exit the parking lot.

Thank you for your collaboration in this process. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us should you have any questions at  anthony_esposito@hcpss.org or gillian_spivey@hcpss.org .
